The filly defeated her rival by half a head in the Fernández Guerrico (G2), capping off a spectacular leg of stakes races

SAN ISIDRO, Buenos Aires (Special for Turf Diario).- Saturday afternoon at the Hipódromo de San Isidro gave fans a wide menu of good news. Labrado (Le Blues) won the General Viamonte (G3) and enhanced his fame, while Colifato Novo (Lenovo) shone in the Horacio Bustillo (G2), making it clear that he is fully back...
And, as if to crown the show, the Clásico Ricardo, Ezequiel y Ezequiel M. Fernández Guerrico (G2-1600 m, turf), for mares, offered a wonderful finish between Lessons of Life (Le Blues) and Dream Serena (Forge), so close that it was necessary to wait a little while to find out which of the two had won.
Finally, it was the former who managed to resist by just half a head the strong internal surge of her rival in the final stages, living up to her heavy favoritism (she paid $ 1.90) and sending another signal that her level is in full growth.
Third time was the charm in turf stakes for the Triple Alliance filly, the silks of John Behrendt which are currently in a spiral of great victories, with Edict (Il Campione), Charm (Strategos), and East of Eden (Il Campione), among others, as flagships of such a special moment.
With Dream Serena, she almost has a rivalry of her own now. She followed her home in the Melgarejo (L) and had left her behind in the Omnium (L), both times behind Orpen Rimout (Remote). Now she has tipped the scales, it is true, but the illusion of a new clash between them remains. It is always thrilling.
Lessons of Life is growing, moving through the second half of her 3-year-old season and improving with every start. She had already hinted at it with a spectacular show in a conditional race, and now she has confirmed it.
She was never too far from the leader Blessed Shine (Honour Devil), dominated her shortly after reaching the final straight, and at the end, she put in grit and heart to stop a Dream Serena who, from her medium build, always gives everything. The time of 1m34s37/100 was good, although almost 2 seconds slower compared to what Colifato Novoclocked a while earlier in the Bustillo. Just a detail for a formidable race that put the ribbon on a day when turf toasted with champagne...
