In almost all categories, the mares are reshaping their rankings. Between exports and injuries, the leaders are no longer clear, and the middle-distance division on turf is one of those suffering from the absence of reference names.

For this afternoon at the Hipódromo de San Isidro, there are 6 contenders for the Clásico Ricardo, Ezequiel y Ezequiel M. Fernández Guerrico (G2), one of the most important races of each season in this category, and it is not easy to find a clear candidate.

Youth, current form, and outlook give the edge to Lessons Of Life to dream that the third time will be the charm on the black-type stage, although she lacks a strong record at the distance.

The bay owned by John Behrendt and his Triple Alliance has just made headlines with an 8-length victory in an allowance race, justifying her heavy favoritism and following up on her previous second-place finishes in the Clásico Melgarejo (L) and Clásico Omnium (L), but always over 1400 meters. Her only experience in the mile was during the 2025 Gran Premio Polla de Potrancas (G1), where she finished seventh behind Moon Frank (Gidu), but at a different stage of her career.

The daughter of Le Blues will now face Dream Serena (Forge) again, whom she followed home by half a length in the Melgarejo, and whom she finished 3 lengths ahead of in the Omnium, when both succumbed to Orpen Rimout(Remote). A strong finisher, the defender of Stud Quereuquen will wait for a fast pace to take advantage of her late charge.

After a 168-day layoff and under new management, Forti Leaf (Fortify) returns to action. She was one of the best fillies of last year and has moved to the barn of Guillermo Frenkel Santillán. Winner of the Güiraldes (G3), she was second in the Polla de Potrancas (G2) at La Plata and fifth in the Palermo version on the afternoon she exited the scene. With such credentials, she must be respected to the maximum, although she is making her debut on the turf—the big question mark surrounding her.

Coming from lower levels are Guadilú (Señor Candy) and Blessed Shine (Honour Devil), both with vast experience and great current form. Samba do Brazil (Springdom) won an allowance race and dreams of more.
