LA PLATA.- Look Portal will look to take another solid step toward the G1 Gran Premio Dardo Rocha when he returns to La Plata Tuesday for the Clásico Stud Book Argentino (L), contested at 2200 meters for 4-year-olds and up under weight-for-age conditions.

The son of Portal del Alto is enjoying a fine run at the Bosque, having captured back-to-back renewals of the Clásico Federación Argentina de Jockey Clubes e Hipódromo and the Clásico Jockey Club de Córdoba, and now faces just four rivals—three of whom he defeated last time out.

In that latest score, carrying the colors of Stud Haras Cachagua, he prevailed by 1 1/2 lengths over Best Portal (Portal del Alto), with Sofware (Treasure Beach) another half-length back in third and Che Banquero (Greenspring) fourth, two lengths adrift. The margins were decisive, and it remains to be seen if they can be overturned.

The new face in the lineup is Mister Coquette (Bodemeister), who back in mid-March landed the Clásico Regimiento de Granaderos a Caballo (L) over the San Isidro turf before adding a few solid efforts. A distant fifth behind Vundu(Suggestive Boy) in the Clásico Potrillón last time, he makes his first career appearance at La Plata in search of redemption.
