Los Llanos debuts new silks in the Ramírez and seeks a return to winning ways

The son of Le Blues, now carrying the colors of Stud Pauli, stands as a top contender in the bridge between the first two legs of the southern Triple Crown

LA PLATA.— The dirt path for 3-year-old colts at the local track will feature its intermediate bridge this afternoon between the first two legs of the Triple Crown. Following a thrilling Polla de Potrillos (G3) and ahead of the Jockey Club de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (G2), the action continues today with the Clásico José Pedro Ramírez (G3), held over a 1,700-meter test.

With Autorretrato (Angiolo), hero of the Polla, opting to pursue a double at Palermo, the landscape opens up significantly for Los Llanos, who had largely commanded the division up until that afternoon.

A winner of the Clásico Asociación de Propietarios de Caballos de Carrera de Buenos Aires (G3), Clásico Luis María Doyhenard (G3), and Clásico Isidoro Aramburu (G3), the story takes a new turn for the Marcelo Sueldotrainee, who was acquired in recent days by Stud Pauli, silks he will defend for the very first time today.

The son of Le Blues delivered a slightly sub-par performance in the Polla, finishing third while beaten merely a neck and a half-head, a run he will now look to avenge.

Los Llanos will face 9 rivals this time, among them the Palermo-based Teobaldo (Uncle Chuck), whom he already defeated by 3 lengths when they met in the aforementioned Aramburu. Sitting a notch below is Soberano Boone (Daniel Boone), fifth behind Negro de Pergamino, who is aiming for an impactful local debut in La Plata.
