The daughter of Treasure Beach confirmed her excellent form by overtaking the pacesetter Timberlay in the final furlong on the turf mile

The excellent form of Lost Beach (56 kg) was extended this Monday at the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo with an undeniable victory in the Especial Jardy, the feature race of the program contested over a mile on the inner turf track.
With an infallible Gonzalo Borda in the irons, the daughter of Treasure Beach swept past the field in the final stages to justify her status as the $2.10 favorite. The mare, representing Stud Rock del Campo, arrived following a solid win on the San Isidro dirt and has now showcased her versatility, proving capable of performing equally well on any surface despite her lean 435-kilo frame.
It was a display of pure patience by the leading jockey in the general statistics, who kept Lost Beach in last position for a good portion of the trip while Timberlay (Portal del Alto, 54) set the pace with fractions of 25s 15/100 and 48s 96/100.
Upon reaching the homestretch, the leader shot away along the inside and opened up a two-length advantage, momentarily appearing as the winner. However, as soon as Borda asked Lost Beach for her final effort, she responded with a strong kick, overtaking Timberlay in the final furlong.
At the wire, there was a length difference between the winner and the runner-up, with Guerrera del Mar (Seahenge, 52)—who had chased the leader from the start—completing the trifecta another length back. The final time was a very sharp 1m 34s 76/100.
Bred by Haras El Gusy and acquired during the liquidation of Juan Garat's nursery, Lost Beach is the first foal out of the standout Lost Treasure (City Banker), a winner of the Clásico Manuel F. y Emilio Gnecco (G3), Espadaña, and Frari, from the family of the unforgettable sprinter Pariguana (Solazo).
As long as the weight assignments do not become too demanding, Lost Beach looks set to continue rewarding her connections at this level. She is currently in a peak moment that must be fully capitalized upon.
