The breeder of Champion Invasor will offer 53 colts and fillies in the Tattersall ring, under the organization of Arg Sales and featuring names like Nevado Pisco and Morotai

What do Nanabush (Il Campione), Invasor (Candy Stripes), Malpensa (Orpen), Nanda Dea (Fortify), and Kalithea (Exchange Rate) have in common? They were all bred by Haras Santa Inés, the farm owned by Alessandro Miserocchi, which is now preparing for a new edition of its Gran Venta Selecta.
Scheduled for next Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Tattersall of the San Isidro Racecourse, and with presale already underway, the event will be conducted by Arg Sales and will feature 53 yearlings.
The farm’s success and hopes rest on its exceptional bloodstock, where some of the best stallions combine with top maternal lines, both domestic and international, thanks to years of investment in mares from historic breeders and the development of their own branches.
“We’ve come a long way since we started several decades ago. I’m satisfied with the results we’ve achieved, but I still believe there’s always room to improve,” says Alessandro, who was born in Italy and brings his unique perspective to the operation.
Santa Inés catalogs are loaded with black type, the result of a bold policy of continuous broodmare selection and replacement. “Our strategy has always been to constantly upgrade our broodmare band by incorporating the best race mares and purchasing mares both in Argentina and abroad. We also try to use mainly proven stallions. All of this has allowed us to produce horses with a strong genetic foundation,” the breeder explains.
Looking ahead to the upcoming sale, Miserocchi adds: “Besides having great pedigrees, the yearlings are also very correct physically. I’m particularly excited about the first crop of Uncle Chuck, whose only two crops are being offered this year following his untimely passing.”
Asked to highlight a few standouts, he quickly names one that shines on all fronts: “Without a doubt, the star is Nevado Pisco, a Fortify colt out of Nanga Parbat (Majestic Warrior), a full brother to GSW Nanda Dea, who is unbeaten in two starts in the U.S., and a half-brother to champion Nanabush (Il Campione), recently crowned Argentina’s 2024 Broodmare of the Year. We’re also offering Everest Joy (Fortify), a half-brother to G1 winner Empress Jackie(Southern Halo); Flaubert, another Fortify and a half to champion 2YO colt Fiel Amigo (Violence); and San Siro, a full brother to GSW Sea Wolf. Among the Uncle Chuck colts, I really like Morotai, a half to G1 Jockey Club winner Marignac (Equal Stripes) from the family of Malpensa (G1); Montaldo, a brother to current standout Martana (Fortify); and Madagascar, a half to Clásico 25 de Mayo (G2) winner Monsieur Delon (Il Campione).”
This season, Santa Inés mares will visit Fortify (Distorted Humor), Il Campione (Scat Daddy), Cosmic Trigger(Lizard Island), Gouverneur Morris (Constitution), Hi Happy (Pure Prize), and Satono Flag (Deep Impact), all in line with the farm’s ongoing pursuit of excellence. “We’ve also added several mares from the U.S., including four daughters of the great Tapit (Pulpit), as well as some local black-type winners and proven producers,” he adds.
What lies ahead for Santa Inés? The breeder doesn’t hold back: “We always hope the best is yet to come. Maybe… another Invasor.”
