Magnitude Fine-Tunes Details Ahead of a Whitney Featuring the Division's Best

The son of Not This Time will race next weekend at Saratoga and demonstrated formidable form in his final workout

SARATOGA SPRINGS, New York (Special for Turf Diario).— Riding a wave of confidence and enjoying the finest form of his campaign, Magnitude completed another key move Saturday in his preparation for the Whitney Stakes (G1), the blockbuster fixture on August 8 at Saratoga that offers a $1,000,000 purse along with an automatic berth into October's Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) at Keeneland.

The Winchell Thoroughbreds representative breezed 800 meters in 1m73/100 over the Oklahoma training track, a effort that fully satisfied Hall of Fame trainer Steven Asmussen, who observed the workout alongside stablemate Tiztastic (Tiz the Law), who is also entered for the Whitney.

With a career record of 14 starts, 8 wins, 2 seconds, and 1 third, along with earnings exceeding $9.6 million, Magnitudewill enter the Whitney as one of the standout contenders in one of the most prestigious events on the U.S. calendar for older horses.

Regarding Tiztastic, Asmussen explained that his participation remains to be finalized: "I will talk later with Ron Winchell to see what he wants to do. We'll see how he feels, though Tiztastic has also been working really well and is a very capable horse. I thought both of them moved excellently," he indicated.

Also four years old, Tiztastic sports a record of 15 starts with 4 victories and earnings over $1.7 million. In his most recent outing, he finished third, well behind Phileas Fogg (Astern), in the Suburban Stakes (G2) held July 4 over the same Saratoga main track.
