Thanks to the victory of Los Llanos in the Clásico Propietarios (G3) this past Tuesday at La Plata, the trainer reached an impressive milestone, with nearly 2 months of activity still ahead

Before the start of the season for the new generation of products, trainer Marcelo Sueldo set a specific goal: to achieve 30 victories with his 2-year-olds during the first semester. This Tuesday, with nearly two months of activity still remaining for the youngest runners, the professional celebrated reaching that dream milestone thanks to Los Llanos(Le Blues), who convincingly won the Clásico Asociación de Propietarios de Caballos de Carrera de Buenos Aires(G3) at La Plata.

Numbers like these, achieved by the son of the legendary Héctor Sueldo from his base at Campo 2 in the Hipódromo de San Isidro, have not been seen since the era of Néstor Yalet. Since November 1st, Sueldo has sent 33 colts and fillies to the track, with 20 of them combining for the 30 aforementioned victories, including 9 stakes triumphs.

Key contributors to this record include:

  • Gota Clara Sos (Made You Look): The leader of the early selective process in La Plata and a current reference on the San Isidro turf, she secured 4 wins, including the Clásico Eliseo Ramírez (G2), Derli A. Gómez (G3), and Amilcar A. Mercader (L).

  • Salema (Il Mercato): Achieved 3 victories, most recently taking the Clásico Andrés S. Torres (G3).

  • Chichipío (Angiolo): Now exported, he also won 3 times, with highlights in the Clásico Criadores Argentinos del Sangre Pura de Carrera (L) and Agustín B. Gambier (G3).

  • Muy Macho Win (Gershwin): Provided two wins, including the Clásico Santiago Luro (G2) at Palermo.

  • El Rayo Pass (Distinctiv Passion): A double winner who recently claimed the Clásico Velocidad (G3) on the San Isidro straight.

Other winners contributing to the stable's success include Full Lujoso, Mayan Godess, Siesta, Unica Forma, El Brigadier, Juara, Esthetic Boy, El Pirata, Pasión del Alma Pass, Les Tiró La Recta, Ansiedad Pass, Tardona, Shekhina, and Unafraid.

Sueldo expressed his satisfaction, noting that while his stable has always focused on this type of training, the results are more visible now due to a larger string of horses. He also highlighted a special affection for La Plata, where he often sends his top runners, such as the standout Malibú Spring (Greenspring) in previous years. To put his achievement in perspective, the second-ranked trainer in the 2-year-old statistics, Juan Saldivia, follows with 9 wins from 8 winners.

As a final note, a certain journalist named Sebastián Heredia reportedly promised a cake to celebrate the milestone if it was achieved. Following the recent string of victories, it is rumored that the plates and spoons are already being prepared at San Isidro.
