They took the Especial Ill Diabolo and the Especial Don Bildo on a bustling Monday afternoon in Buenos Aires

In addition to the magnificent victory by Le Cornette (Emmanuel) in the Clásico Paraguay (G3) and a massive turnout, Monday’s card at Palermo Racecourse provided other compelling highlights, such as those delivered by Mario Bros and Sátrapa in the special events designated for provincial competitors.
In tight finishes, the former showed plenty of grit over the 1000-meter sprint to claim the Especial Ill Diabolo, while the latter launched a powerful late charge to prevail in the Especial Don Bildo, contested over 1400 meters on the fast dirt track.
Backed by jockey Brian Enrique and trainer Sergio Carezzana, Mario Bros dug deep into his toolkit to make his official racing debut a winning one. The effort confirmed the strong form he showed on July 26 in Río Cuarto, Córdoba—where he is conditioned—after winning over 600 meters in just over 33s.
In a tightly contested running, the son of Qué Vida Buena was among the early pacemakers from the break, holding firm from the 200-meter pole to the wire to edge Super Junior (Seize) by a mere half-head, stopping the clock in a flat 59s.
"He's still a bit green, he didn't switch leads for me, so I think he has plenty of room to improve," noted Brian Enriqueregarding the colt, who races for Stud El Arrabalero and was bred at Haras Don Florentino.
A short while later over 1400 meters, Sátrapa likewise capitalized on a previous victory out in Azul to defeat Roberts Orpen (Emotion Orpen) by a head. The runner-up was subsequently disqualified and placed third for causing interference in the closing stages to Amiguito Pillo (Amiguito Calificado).
Owned by Stud Manolito, bred at Haras Abolengo, trained by Marcelo Pérez, and forming part of a riding hat-trick for jockey Jorge Peralta, the son of Pneumatic still has much more to offer. We will almost certainly see him back at the major tracks soon, perhaps stepping up into higher-level stakes company.
