LA PLATA.- It took Marquise Zenda quite some time to discover the path to victory, but once she found it, she seems to have no intention of leaving it. After needing ten starts to secure her maiden win, the filly celebrated once again this Thursday at Hipódromo de La Plata, emerging as one of the standout figures on a card held over a heavy track, where the 3-year-old events delivered several compelling outcomes.

The daughter of Il Mercato did not face an easy task in the Premio Sigma Séptima, the tenth race on the program, framed for 3-year-old fillies with one win over 1000 meters. The field was large, the track conditions added an extra layer of difficulty, and her previous form did not rank her among the main choices. Nevertheless, none of that stopped her from dispatching the assignment with striking authority.

Rewarding her supporters at odds of 10.10-1, Marquise Zenda left Black Win (Winning Prize) 5 lengths behind at the wire, stopping the clock in 1m01s25/100—a mark that demands appreciation given the heavy nature of the main track. The margin at the finish was as commanding as the contrast with the opening chapter of her career, when victory repeatedly eluded her.

Transitioning from requiring ten attempts to exit the maiden ranks to chaining together back-to-back victories represents a significant turning point. Above all, it suggests that the filly still has room for further progression, now buoyed by the confidence that comes with winning.

Another notable performer of the afternoon was Licitador, who found the La Plata circuit to be the ideal venue to achieve his breakthrough victory. Following several close efforts at San Isidro, the son of the proven sire Forge made his debut at El Bosque in the Premio Stage Coach over 2000 meters, fully delivering on the expectations of the betting public.

Sent off as the heavy favorite, the Stud El Gran ZV representative left no room for doubt, crossing the line 5 lengths clear of Milagroso Most (Most Improved), a margin that spoke clearly of his superiority. The change of scenery and the challenge of a demanding distance played entirely in his favor, allowing him to convert his previous close finishes into a decisive triumph.

In a division where stamina and experience are paramount, his performance left a highly favorable impression, opening the door for him to establish continuity among the young stayers—a division where discovering new talent is always of great interest.

There was also cause for celebration for Moto Oceánica (Seahenge), who broke her maiden in the Premio La Batucada, a 1600-meter event for 3-year-old fillies.

The winner had to wait until her seventh career start to hit the mark, but this time she sealed the deal by defeating public favorite Galardona (Fortify) by 1 length. While not as dominant a margin as those posted by Marquise Zendaand Licitador, it proved more than enough to secure a crucial milestone in her racing career.

The recap of the sophomore events concluded with Lovely Tina (Safety Check), winner of the Premio Filly, an alternative category race for maiden 3-year-old fillies contested over 1400 meters.

Following an encouraging debut, the filly took a major step forward in her second outing to prevail by 2 lengths over Gran Bouclet (Grand Reward), quickly shedding her maiden status.
