On a day that will be remembered as one of the most brilliant milestones of his career, Martín Valle became one of the great protagonists of the May 1 meeting at the Hipódromo de Palermo. With astonishing coolness and the skill characteristic of the elite, the Corrientes native rounded off a dream afternoon by conquering two G1 events.
The jockey's harvest began to take shape in the Gran Premio Jorge de Atucha (G1), where he guided Gran Gotera(Made You Look) to victory. Strategy was key, as Valle explained that choosing an inside gate allowed them to stay close to the rails for a guide. The filly responded to the demand and crossed the wire in first place, sparking the first major celebration of the day.
However, Martín Valle's ambition and talent did not stop there. In the Gran Premio de las Américas - OSAF (G1), the rider shone aboard Drive Joy (Fortify), a horse returning to his best level after overcoming physical issues. The jockey analyzed that after a good return race, the horse responded perfectly against the best middle-distance runners. Valle was already familiar with success in this competition, having won it previously with El Exito (Il Campione).
The afternoon could have been even better for Valle if not for the narrow finish of the Gran Premio Criadores (G1), where, aboard Martana (Fortify), he finished a nose behind Herd Immunity (Forge), ridden by Francisco Lavigna. In a gesture of professionalism, the rider reflected on the uncertainty of the finish and congratulated Lavigna, noting that he is a "good loser" and that his colleague deserved the space he is earning in the sport.
Despite that bittersweet moment, the overall balance was extraordinary. His winning streak did not end on Friday, as he returned to the winner's circle on Monday after winning with Lissette Island (Lizard Island) in the Clásico España (L).
The current success of Martín Valle is the result of an unwavering discipline forged in his early days, including months of hard work in La Plata regardless of the weather. This maturity translates into an enviable calm during major events. He also expressed deep gratitude toward José Blanco, who consistently provided him with mounts and confidence, helping him become the rider he is today and opening doors to major stables like Firmamento and Santa Inés.
With two new top-level trophies in his showcase, bringing his total to 21, Martín Valle reaffirms that his name is a guarantee in the most important definitions of the Argentine racing calendar.
