Haras Tiveres’ Maximiana Finishes Strong to beat Contrast by 2 lenghts, over San Isidro's turf track

Maximiana (Arg) (Treasure Beach {GB}) found at the stakes level what had eluded her in the allowance ranks, notching her third career victory Saturday at San Isidro with a determined performance in the 2000-meter Contraventora H. run over heavy turf.
Carrying 54 kilos, the Haras Tiveres homebred sat handy before jockey Rodrigo Bascuñán angled her out in the stretch, and the bay filly responded strongly to open up late, crossing the wire two lengths clear of the consistent Contrast (Arg) (Safety Check {GB}), who rallied from the back. Doble Amarilla (Arg) (Suggestive Boy {Arg}) was another length and a half back in third. The final time was 2:05.67.
Trained by Elvio Bortulé, the granddaughter of G1 winner La Belga (Arg) (Roy) has now won three of 15 starts, rarely finishing out of the frame. Proven at longer distances, she could have her sights set on December’s G1 Gran Premio Copa de Plata, provided she confirms this level of form in upcoming stakes engagements.
