Mi Confesión Aims for Another Victory in the United States

The daughter of Suggestive Boy, who has been running remarkably well in the States, will compete Thursday in a tough allowance feature at Del Mar

DEL MAR, California (Special for Turf Diario).- The summer meet at this seaside venue will feature another prominent Argentine runner in action in the coming days. As anticipation builds to watch Full Serrano (Full Mast) clash on Saturday with Journalism (Curlin) and the Chilean contender The Goat (Midshipman) in the San Diego Stakes (G2), another appointment is already locked into the schedule.

Next Thursday, the impressive Mi Confesión will line up in the sixth race of the card, an allowance optional claiming event over 1,700 meters on the turf course offering an $82,000 purse.

Formerly campaigned by Adolfo Cambiaso and now carrying the silks of Mike Repole, the daughter of Suggestive Boytrained by Michael McCarthy will break from post four against 10 opponents, with Venezuelan jockey Emisael Jaramillo in the saddle.

A winner of the Clásico Bayakoa (L), second in the Clásico Manuel J. Güiraldes (G3), and third in the Gran Premio Polla de Potrancas (G1), the dark bay has already made three starts stateside, leaving a distinctly favorable impression each time out. She encountered trouble on debut to finish seventh before earning her diploma next time out, and most recently ran second by 1 1/4 lengths behind Baltic Fire (Flameaway) in a similar contest to Thursday's event, with all three outings coming at Santa Anita Park.

Baltic Fire herself will cross paths with her once more (entered as the lone runner with a $100,000 claiming tag), though Irish-bred Canto Della Terra (Kodiac) looks like a formidable threat, coming in undefeated in two starts since arriving from Europe.

After missing the board in the American Oaks (G1), Ribbons (Liam's Map) drops back into more accessible company and shapes up as another dangerous foe for Mi Confesión, as does Dreaming of Abba (Fast Anna), a multiple stakes-placed filly who arrives off a sixth-place effort in the Possibly Perfect Stakes (L) at Santa Anita.
