The daughter of Equal Talent rose to the stiff 60-kilo assignment to edge Pura Diva by a narrow margin, sealing a strong season-ending highlight for Stud Lagrange

An impressive close to the season for Stud Lagrange at Hipódromo de San Isidro. On Friday, the silks reached the winner’s enclosure with Guadilu (Señor Candy) in the Handicap Jerry Honor, and on Sunday the scene was repeated courtesy of Miss Talento, a gritty heroine in the Clásico Blue Prize (2000 meters, turf), the race that launched the stakes doubleheader on the final card of the year at the Jockey Club Argentino venue.
Shouldering a demanding top weight of 60 kilos proved no obstacle for the daughter of Equal Talent and Pura Verdade (Pure Prize), trained in Palermo by María F. Álvarez and Walter Suárez. She showed both grit and class in the stretch to outbattle the courageous Pura Diva (Puerto Real, 53), who fought on bravely to finish a neck second.
Jockey Gonzalo Borda conserved as much energy as possible aboard Miss Talento, who—despite the compact field—encountered some traffic issues in the run home. Once she found a seam, albeit with little room to spare, she finished resolutely, digging in to fend off a lightly raced rival who offered stern resistance.
A distant five lengths back, Masiera Time (Annals of Time, 52 1/2) completed the trifecta, as the clock stopped at a sharp 1:58.99 over firm going.
Bred by María I. Solveyra and Cornelio Donovan, Miss Talento recorded the sixth—and most significant—victory of her career, putting the final, emphatic exclamation point on a standout season for Stud Lagrange.
