The division of female turf stayers at Hipódromo de San Isidro kicked off the season with a surprise in the Clásico Juan Shaw (G2), whose 2200 meters were the first of two stakes steps on a Saturday afternoon that later offered another giant blow in the Gran Premio Miguel A. Martínez de Hoz (G1), with Full Keynote (Full Mast) reaching the winner's circle.

In her first performance over the distance, the Buenos Aires-born Miss Talento arrived from the handicaps to give her campaign a different relief, guided in great form by Gonzalo Borda. She overtook the Brazilian Neowise (Agnes Gold) in the final stages to beat her by just half a length in 2m13s53/100, on a normal track.

Without strong figures present, it was the ideal ground to make the leap, and the daughter of Equal Talent carrying the historic colors of Stud Lagrange did not let the opportunity slip away.

With only 5 participants, as Primera Fila (Equal Stripes) was a non-runner, the favorite Romana Craf(Mastercraftsman) was in charge of setting the pace, followed closely by Neowise, both changing the tactics of coming more contained than they usually use. Miss Talento, meanwhile, watched them from a couple of lengths away, without losing their track and relishing a fight she could take advantage of.

In the straight, Neowise quickly took command, gaining small advantages and fueling her connections' hopes. However, when Borda accelerated Miss Talento on the outside, the pupil of Walter Suárez and María F. Alvarez kicked strongly to blow past in the final furlong and claim the top prize.

Now the winner of 7 victories in 22 appearances, 4 of them at the stakes level, Miss Talento is one of the 4 winning offspring produced to date by Pura Verdade (Pure Prize), and was bred by María I. Solveyra and Cornelio Donovan.

Capable of performing equally well on dirt as on turf, the heroine of the Juan Shaw now holds the hope of remaining among the references of a division where everything is quite volatile.
