The most important race of the year for fillies is approaching, with the two best set to face off; it will be run next Saturday over 2000 meters on Palermo’s dirt track

No scratches were reported, leaving 12 fillies confirmed to run next Saturday at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo in the Gran Premio Selección (G1), the year’s premier event for three-year-old fillies, which will crown the best of the generation.
The race will finally stage a rematch of what happened a few weeks ago in the Polla de Potrancas (G1), with Moon Frank (Gidu) and Charm (Strategos)—first and second in the opening leg of the national Triple Crown—set to go head-to-head again as the division leaders.
Also in the field are Doña Lucila (Equal Talent), runner-up in the Clásico Francisco J. Beazley (G2), and Mis Locuras (Manipulator), who captured the Clásico Diego White (G3) at La Plata before finishing second to Cálida Sonrisa (Cosmic Trigger) in the Gran Premio Selección de Potrancas (G1).
Other notable entrants include Rosa Eterna (Long Island Sound), Embrace It (Daddy Long Legs), and Miss Kalima (Seahenge), who finished third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, in the Beazley.
Returning to action is Citana (Endorsement), one of the standout fillies of the first half of the season, now trained by Juan Saldivia for foreign silks. She has not raced since finishing second to Charm in the Gran Premio de Potrancas (G1) at San Isidro on May 25.
Other confirmed runners include Cannolina (South Kissing), Evelia (Daddy Long Legs), Class Life (Fortify), and the promising Sex Bomb (Nicholas).
Contested over 2000 meters, the Oaks carry a total purse of AR$85,200,000, with AR$40,000,000 going to the winner. The prize money for the other placings is distributed as follows: AR$14,000,000 to second, AR$10,000,000 to third, AR$6,800,000 to fourth, AR$4,800,000 to fifth, AR$3,600,000 to sixth, AR$3,200,000 to seventh, and AR$2,800,000 to eighth.
The entry fee was AR$170,400, with an additional AR$1,533,600 due for confirmation. All the pieces are in place for a thrilling renewal of the Gran Premio Selección at Palermo.
