The Gran Premio Selección (G1) already has its list of entries, with 12 fillies set to aim for the most prestigious race of the season for their division on Saturday, October 11 at Palermo, the contest that will determine the year’s best 3-year-old.

A rematch of the Polla (G1) could be in store, as both Moon Frank (Gidu) and Charm (Strategos)—who finished 1-2 in the opening leg of the Triple Crown—appear among the entries and remain the clear leaders of the generation so far.

Other notable names include Doña Lucila (Equal Talent), runner-up in the G2 Francisco J. Beazley; and Mis Locuras (Manipulator), heroine of La Plata’s G3 Diego White before finishing second to Cálida Sonrisa (Cosmic Trigger) in the G1 Selección de Potrancas.

Also lining up are Rosa Eterna (Long Island Sound)Embrace It (Daddy Long Legs) and Miss Kalima (Seahenge), who filled the third, fourth and fifth spots in the Beazley, along with the talented Citana (Endorsement), making her return for trainer Juan Saldivia after last being seen finishing second to Charm in San Isidro’s G1 Potrancas back in May.

Completing the list are Cannolina (South Kissing)Evelia (Daddy Long Legs) and Class Life (Fortify), both proven in the Oaks platenses, and the promising Sex Bomb (Nicholas).

Run over its traditional 2000 meters, the Selección will carry a purse of 85.2 million pesos, with 40 million to the winner. Second place earns 14 million, third 10 million, fourth 6.8 million, fifth 4.8 million, sixth 3.6 million, seventh 3.2 million, and eighth 2.8 million.

The entry fee was set at 170,400 pesos, while owners must pay an additional 1,533,600 pesos to confirm at final entry. Declarations will close at noon Monday, with the draw for post positions scheduled for later that day.

The 3-year-old fillies are ready to crown their queen—the Oaks of Palermo will decide who reigns supreme.
