The Stud RDI mare, making her first start since late June, scored an effortless victory over 2000 meters in the Handicap Dr. Ignacio Pavlovsky

Neowise made her class tell once again, cruising to an easy victory in the Handicap Dr. Ignacio Pavlovsky (2000m, turf) and now looks poised for a possible run in the Gran Premio Copa de Plata (G1). The Brazilian mare handled a long layoff with complete authority, returning to the winner’s circle for the first time since her disappointing effort in the Gran Premio Estrellas Distaff (G1) at Palermo in late June—her first and likely last appearance on dirt.
A winner earlier this season of the Clásico Juan Shaw (G2) and carrying a lenient impost of 59 kilos, the heavy favorite delivered exactly what was expected, going from last to first in the stretch under a perfectly measured ride by Adrián Giannetti, who knew precisely what he had beneath him.
While Playa Chopera (Treasure Beach, 54) took the early lead, Neowise settled near the rear, traveling comfortably throughout. Once in the straight, Giannetti angled her out to the center of the course, and without ever being asked for her best, the Agnes Gold mare swept past her rivals with ease.
After briefly dueling with the filly Roma en Abril (Roman Joy, 52), Neowise began to draw clear from the 250-meter mark, opening up to win by 2 1/2 lengths over that same rival, who ran a promising second coming off her maiden win. Another three lengths back, outsider Niebla Peligrosa (Daddy Long Legs, 52 1/2) secured third.
Trained by Carlos D. Etchechoury and a homebred for Stud RDI, Neowise stopped the clock in 1:59.44, reaffirming her class and signaling that she is very much ready to step back into Group 1 company in the Copa de Plata.
