SOUTH OZONE PARK, New York (Special for TDN).- In a weekend filled with top-class racing, South American turf will also have its share of excitement. On Sunday at Aqueduct, Neverwalkalone, Brazil-bred and Argentina’s Champion 2-Year-Old Filly of 2023, will be back in action, seeking her first major breakthrough on U.S. soil.

The daughter of Agnes Gold is one of five fillies set to contest the Correction Stakes (L), a $125,000 event over six furlongs on dirt—a new challenge for the bay filly.

Trained by Paulo Lobo and with fellow Brazilian Luan Machado named to ride, the Stud RDI and Bonne Chance Farm colorbearer kicked off her season with a strong effort over the synthetic track at Turfway Park, finishing a close second in the Likely Exchange Stakes (L) after battling gamely to the wire.

A dual Group 1 winner in Argentina, Neverwalkalone captured the Estrellas Juvenile Fillies (G1) and the 1000 Guineas(G1). She broke her maiden over a muddy track at San Isidro and finished third in the Gran Premio Polla de Potrancas(G1), also on dirt.

Her four rivals include the consistent St. Benedicts Prep (Flatter), a six-time winner who most recently placed second in both the What a Summer Stakes (L) and the Interborough Stakes (L), as well as third in the Barbara Fritchie Stakes(L).

Also in the field is the improving Sunday Girl (Central Banker), who has won three of her last four starts and was runner-up in the New York Stallion Series Stakes (L).

A multiple stakes winner, Disco Ebo (Weigelia) brings plenty of experience, though she comes off an unfortunate trip at Aqueduct where she lost her rider at the start in an allowance race.

Rounding out the lineup is the well-bred Shop Lifting (Into Mischief), who recently broke her maiden in her 11th career start.
