BENSALEM, Philadelphia (Special for Turf Diario).- Brazilian-bred No Bien Ni Mal extended his unbeaten streak in the United States this Saturday, capturing the Greenwood Cup (G3, 1 1/2 miles, fast dirt) at Parx Racing under the guidance of experienced Joel Rosario. The Hofburg–Una Beleza colt covered the distance in 2:31.23, crossing the wire 1 3/4 lengths clear.

After a relaxed start, No Bien Ni Mal settled in third through the opening quarter-mile (25.13), as Digital Ops (Nyquist) set the pace under Irad Ortiz Jr., with Double Your Money (Demarchelier) and jockey Melvis González close by. Gradually, the Paulo Lobo trainee advanced smoothly, maintaining composure while waiting for the decisive moment. Entering the final quarter-mile, Rosario swung No Bien Ni Mal to the outside, moving alongside Double Your Money, before pulling clear in the closing strides to win with authority.

“He seemed to want to run and was in the race the entire way. Everything looked easy, and I had him under control all the time. Turning for home, I just let him go and he responded impressively. Back in the paddock, he was moving his head, looking happy, still enjoying the race. He’s a very good horse. I wasn’t concerned about the distance; he looked like he could go all day,” Rosario said after the victory, highlighting his connection with the Brazilian colt.

Trainer Paulo Lobo praised the colt’s adaptability and future potential: “He was used to running long distances in South America, and all his genetics are built for that. He has a bright future here. I nominated him for Churchill Downs, but this is only his second race in the U.S., so we took it easy. We’re preparing him for next year; we’re thinking about major races, even Dubai. He’s a very good horse, and we’re aiming high with him.”

No Bien Ni Mal, who debuted in Saratoga in August with a narrow allowance win, now boasts six victories from 12 starts, remaining undefeated on U.S. soil. The Greenwood Cup also marked the first win at Parx Racing for Lobo and owner Duplo Ouro Stables LLC. Paying $3.40 to bettors, the Brazilian confirmed that his previous success was no fluke, demonstrating both natural class and patient handling that set him apart from his rivals.

The Greenwood Cup triumph reinforces that Brazilian—and more broadly South American—thoroughbreds continue to make an impact beyond their borders, combining stamina, track intelligence, and expert riding from Joel Rosario to dominate throughout the race. Looking ahead, both trainer and jockey agree: this talented colt still has major chapters to write on the international stage.
