Not This Time, the Most Expensive Stallion in the United States: $300,000 for 2027

Taylor Made Stallions announced stud fees for its roster for the upcoming season, led by the son of Giant's Causewayreaching an extraordinary mark. Leading the North American general sire list, he combines outstanding racetrack results with massive commercial demand in the sales ring

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (Special for Turf Diario).— Not This Time keeps shattering boundaries. The formidable son of Giant's Causeway has become the most expensive stallion in the United States for the 2027 breeding season, following an announcement by Taylor Made Stallions that his fee will reach a staggering $300,000. That figure reflects an extraordinary present, driven both by the racetrack performance of his offspring and by overwhelming demand in the sales ring.
The announcement, made Thursday, confirms the stallion's ascension to the pinnacle of the American breeding industry. He currently leads the North American general sire standings, with over $28.4 million in cumulative progeny earnings during 2026, surpassing even established benchmarks like Into Mischief (Harlan's Holiday).
The numbers explain such a valuation. With just 7 crops of racing age, Not This Time has already sired 15 G1 winners worldwide, 42 graded stakes winners, and 79 black-type winners. During the current season, he also leads by number of graded stakes winners with 14, while tying Into Mischief for top honors in total black-type winners with 23. Furthermore, he boasts 5 G1 winners on the year, trailing his main rival by just one.
The upcoming Breeders' Cup at Keeneland could offer another stage to expand that dominance. Magnitude, winner of the Dubai World Cup (G1) and the Stephen Foster Stakes (G1), looms as a top contender for the Classic (G1), while Rhetorical, victor in Keeneland's Turf Mile (G1) and Churchill Downs's Turf Classic (G1), will be a formidable presence in the Mile (G1).
He could also be represented by In Our Time, winner of the Ladies Turf Sprint Stakes (G1) at Kentucky Downs, and Cy Fair, winner of the 2025 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1) and an Eclipse Award finalist. Both are targeting the Turf Sprint (G1).
His recent roll call of success includes Bodacious Bay, who captured the Cotillion Stakes (G1) at Parx Racing, and Claret Beret, victorious in Oaklawn Park's Apple Blossom Handicap (G1), where she bested champion Nitrogen.
Yet the influence of Not This Time is hardly restricted to the racetrack. In the auction ring, his progeny commanded astronomical prices during 2026. At Fasig-Tipton's Saratoga Sale, a colt by him was hammered down for $3 million to a syndicate comprising Winchell Thoroughbreds, White Birch Farm, M.V. Magnier, and Resolute Bloodstock.
At that same auction, he was represented by 3 seven-figure yearlings, while at the Keeneland September Sale no fewer than 12 of his offerings cleared the million-dollar threshold, topped by a colt purchased by JS Company for Yosuke Imafuku at $2.1 million.
Within the Taylor Made roster, the second-highest fee for 2027 belongs to Early Voting (Gun Runner), winner of the 2022 Preakness Stakes (G1), who will stand for $50,000.
The young stallion launched his stud career in brilliant fashion, headlined by the undefeated Miss Monica, winner of the Del Mar Debutante Stakes (G1) and a leading contender for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1). The filly had been sold for $850,000 at OBS, while another of his yearlings fetched $1.25 million at Keeneland September.
Instilled Regard (Arch), sire of Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Stakes (G1) winner Minaret Station, will stand for $12,500. Meanwhile, Arthur's Ride (Tapit), winner of the 2024 Whitney Stakes (G1), will be available at $10,000.
The remainder of the announced roster includes Angel of Empire (Classic Empire), Dr. Schivel (Violence), and Idol(Curlin), all set at $5,000, while Instagrand (Into Mischief) will stand for $3,500.
Taylor Made will also maintain its incentive programs for multi-mare bookings, repeat clients, and participants in its regional breeding initiative.
By commanding a $300,000 fee, Not This Time not only sets the highest commercial benchmark among American sires for 2027. He also validates an extraordinary trajectory that has transformed him, in relatively short order, into one of the most influential stallions in the world. His blend of racetrack achievements, precocity, versatility, and market appeal explains why breeders are willing to make such a substantial investment to access his bloodlines.
