The defending champion was among the first international visitors to step onto the track this Tuesday following completion of quarantine. Aidan, Joseph, and Donnacha O'Brien were also on hand to supervise their runners, while Miss Yechance and Hell Of A Spin generated plenty of buzz heading into the Breeders' Cup

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (Special for Turf Diario).— The European invasion is officially underway at Keeneland. After clearing overnight quarantine procedures on Monday, a large contingent of trans-Atlantic runners stepped onto the main track for the first time this Tuesday, embarking on the crucial final stretch of their preparation for Friday and Saturday's Breeders' Cup.

Among the early morning eye-catchers was Notable Speech, the sensational Godolphin color-bearer set to defend his title in the Breeders' Cup Mile (G1). Trained by Charlie Appleby, he appeared shortly after 7:00 a.m., accompanied by stablemate El Cordobes (Frankel), who will line up in the Breeders' Cup Turf (G1).

Both horses completed light exercise, making a splendid impression following their journey.

“He is in extraordinary order. He’s been through it all and is a consummate professional. This morning he went out completely on his own, without needing another horse to lead him. He moved around like he was in his own backyard,” remarked Colm O'Donaghue, work rider for Notable Speech.

Appleby is scheduled to arrive in Kentucky on Tuesday evening to personally oversee his string starting Wednesday morning.

Initial European trackwork remained strictly limited to light trots and gentle canters, standard procedure following a long flight across the pond.

Also making an early appearance was Miss Yechance (Cotai Glory), recent winner of the Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp (G1), as she tunes up for the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1).

The Karl Burke-trained filly stepped out alongside regular exercise rider Jack Nicholls, exhibiting outstanding physical condition.

“She is doing very well, and we are particularly pleased with her weight. We won't push her too hard because she is already right where we want her to be,” explained assistant trainer James Cowley.

Current plans call for a brief blow-out over the turf course on Wednesday—covering the turn and accelerating down the stretch—before light maintenance work on Thursday and Friday.

Miss Yechance drew post position 14, a gate her connections view as a potential advantage.

“We expect good speed inside and hope we can press the pace from out wide. She isn't an overly large filly, and if she got pinned inside the pack following a slow start, she could struggle against those larger sprinters,” Cowley noted.

Nicholls remains undefeated in three starts aboard the Irish-bred filly, boasting victories in a handicap, a G3 event, and her top-level triumph in France.

The morning also provided a glimpse of the extensive O'Brien contingent, with Aidan, Joseph, and Donnacha O'Brien all present on the Keeneland backstretch.

Joseph personally led his string aboard a pony while his charges completed their opening track laps.

Among his group was Folsom Blues, while Johanna Walsh, pre-entered in the Breeders' Cup Turf (G1), worked under jockey Dylan Browne-McMonagle, who expressed satisfaction with her condition.

Over in Aidan O'Brien's barn, Puerto Rico (Wootton Bassett), bound for the Mile, led the procession out to the oval.

He was joined by Sun Goddess (Sioux Nation), one of the top choices for Friday's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1).

Guided by Rachel Richardson—a constant partner for many of Ballydoyle's international travelers—the filly left a thoroughly positive impression.

The arrival of the O'Brien family comes on the heels of an extraordinary weekend for Aidan, who picked up Group 1victories at Doncaster and Saint-Cloud, boosting his top-level win count to 25 for the season.

Generating considerable buzz among the European contingent was Hell Of A Spin (Naval Crown), who will give trainer Adrian Keatley his maiden Breeders' Cup appearance.

The juvenile colt will contest Friday's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1) following his third-place effort in the Middle Park Stakes (G1) at Newmarket on September 26.

He will break from post 11 with Mikey Sheehy booked for the ride.

“It is a tremendous honor to have a Breeders' Cup runner. We are a relatively small stable based in the North of England, so being here represents a fantastic opportunity. We are punching above our usual weight class, but we firmly believe this horse has a genuine chance,” Keatley said.

The conditioner praised the colt's competitive nature: “He is a lovely horse, very straightforward to deal with. You hardly notice he's in the barn. He loves his work, possesses a great mind, and fights all the way to the wire,” he noted.

Hell Of A Spin also carries a unique distinction: he will be offered at the Keeneland Championship Sale on Wednesday evening, just two days prior to his Breeders' Cup engagement.

Keatley believes the colt has all the tools to stretch out to 1,400 or 1,600 meters next season.

“He is a true Group 1 horse. The whole team is thrilled, and we expect a big performance,” he added.

French Presence for Graffard

French trainer Francis-Henri Graffard landed in Kentucky with three contenders, all faring well after the flight.

Amusingly (No Nay Never) will contest the Juvenile Fillies Turf, while Primetime Emmy (Extreme Choice) is set for the Juvenile Turf Sprint.

His third runner, Map Of Stars (Sea the Stars), remains on the reserve list for the Breeders' Cup Turf and will require a late scratch to gain entry into the main field.

With the European contingent settled into their stalls and initial gallops under their belts, Keeneland is fully embracing the Breeders' Cup atmosphere.

Notable Speech will seek to replicate his triumph from twelve months ago, the O'Brien dynasty aims to extend an incredible season, and boutique stables prepare to measure themselves against the world's finest. The countdown has reached its defining hours.
