Ocurrencia, Reconquista and Lamadrid Feature on San Isidro Turf

Speed will be the central theme at the Hipódromo de San Isidro over the coming week, as entries opened Monday for a trio of upcoming turf stakes races. The weekend's highlight will be the Clásico Ocurrencia (G3, 1000m, turf), to be run Saturday for fillies and mares aged three and up.

A dozen names populate the early list of nominees, with Forever Rim (Remote) and Enjoy Dancing (Hi Happy) standing out as the main headliners. Others under consideration include A La Vista (Angiolo), African Mode (Angiolo), Dark Gina (In the Dark), Durmia (Cityscape), Firenze Key (Key Deputy), Flamboyance Rim (Remote), Kea (Fortify), Naja(Fortify), Nisa (Angiolo) and Reina Richard (Emperor Richard).

The Saturday card will also feature the Clásico Reconquista (L, 1400m, turf, one turn), which drew no fewer than 22 entries. Among the most notable are G1 winners Holy Joy (Fortify) and Earth God (Cosmic Trigger), as well as G2 scorer Concord (Remote), all three of whom are also cross-entered in the upcoming meeting at Palermo.

The list of potential contenders also includes: Approval Cat (Endorsement), Arcanum (Horse Greeley), Bajo El Cielo(True Cause), Bitter Orange (Treasure Beach), Bluclette Rim (Remote), Con Exceso (Homage), El Cuquito (Il Campione), El Ernesto (Señor Candy), El Gazpacho (Bodemeister), Felicidad Compartida (Le Blues), Garufa Mask(Mask), Giant Rimout (Remote), Mr. Versace (Fortify), Paraná Miní (Winning Prize), Preston Boss (Holy Boss), Qué Cubano (Qué Vida Buena), Quemetomo (Equal Talent), Santo Varón (Sebi Halo) and Talented Hit (Hit It a Bomb).

Meanwhile, Wednesday, August 13 will host the Clásico Lamadrid (L, 1000m, turf), restricted to older horses, with 12 names on the entry sheet: Camuflaje (Orpen), DurmiaEl Romancero (Il Campione), Filoso Class (Filoso Emperor), Firenze KeyFront Rimout (Remote), Gracias Gringo (Touareg), Hiran (Santillano), Mario's Rim (Remote), Opreso(Endorsement), Príncipe Soñado (Fragotero) and Trajanus (Daniel Boone).
