Patriótica put her full talent on display and continues her dominance on the turf at Maroñas

The mare representing Stud La Concordia added her second victory since her stint at Palermo, this time capturing the Clásico Fomento (G3)
MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay (Special for Turf Diario).— Beating Patriótica on the grass at Maroñas is, right now, an impossible task. The mare representing Stud La Concordia notched her fourth consecutive victory over that surface this Sunday, in a streak that was only interrupted by her flat effort in the Gran Premio Gilberto Lerena (G1) when she crossed the pond to show her skills at Palermo.
Following a solid comeback performance in allowance ranks, the daughter of Trinniberg confirmed her true class with a decisive triumph in the Clásico Fomento (G3-2,100m), opening up a bright horizon ahead that might even include another crack at Buenos Aires, where the silks of Raúl Cazalas previously shone with Demi Moore (Agnes Gold).
With José da Silva in the saddle and presented by Jorge Rey, Patriótica traveled comfortably in third throughout, brimming with energy as the Argentine-bred Bonita Johana (John F Kennedy) set the pace, shadowed by the Brazilian-bred Julia do Jaguareté (Alpha).
The race unfolded without much drama and only saw a shift down the lane when the eventual winner was angled wide early to confront the leader and went past her. From then on, it was smooth sailing for the chestnut, who drew away to cross the wire with a 2 1/2-length advantage over Bonita Johana, while Julia do Jaguareté held third, a head further back. The final time was 2:10.37 following moderate fractions of 24.85, 50.52, 1:14.67, and 1:40.88.
After the race, Cazalas remarked for Maroñas: "I expected to see her sit a bit further back, as she usually does, making a big run. In Buenos Aires, when the track didn't suit her, she sat closer, but today her action surprised me with how calmly she finished up. José knows her inside out, perhaps even better than Demi Moore; I believe Patriótica is better than her and will bring us many more moments of joy."
Patriótica is a half-sister to El Patriota (Ecólogo), hero of the 2020 Gran Premio Nacional (G1) at Maroñas and later a solid performer in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as well as Encerada (Señor Candy), winner of the Clásico Antonio, Antonio J. y Cyro Mattos (G3) on this side of the pond, hailing from a remarkable maternal family.
