Patriótica is twice the mare when she steps onto the turf, a fact she made abundantly clear last Sunday by securing the biggest victory of her career in the Clásico Ministerio de Economía y Finanzas - DGC (G3-2100m) at the Hipódromo Nacional de Maroñas.

Making a massive jump in distance after a previous allowance win over 1400 meters on the same surface, the daughter of Trinniberg has fueled the high aspirations of owner-breeder Raúl Cazalas, who has always held her in high regard. Representing the colors of Haras La Concordia, Cazalas is now considering another international venture, reminiscent of his success with Demi Moore (Agnes Gold) a couple of seasons ago, which resulted in a brilliant victory in the Clásico Partícula (G2) at San Isidro.

Specifically, the potential plans for Patriótica include "crossing the pond" to Argentina for either the Gran Premio Gilberto Lerena (G1) next month at Palermo or the Gran Premio Estrellas Distaff (G1) mid-season on the San Isidro turf.

Another ambitious option—beyond her local commitments in Maroñas—is the daunting challenge of traveling to Monterrico (Peru) to compete in the Clásico Pamplona (G1) on April 26th. Held during the Gran Premio Latinoamericano (G1) weekend, the Pamplona offers a substantial purse in US dollars and serves as a "Win and You're In" qualifier for the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1) at Keeneland.

After Patriótica defeated Dua Lipa (Can the Man) by 1 1/4 lengths, Cazalas told Maroñas TV: "Perhaps some of the top contenders were missing, but she won a beautiful race. Everything we discussed with jockey José da Silva went perfectly, and she reminded me a lot of Demi Moore. I’ve always advocated for racing abroad, and when she crossed the wire, the 'Estrellas' jumped into my mind. If she stays healthy and the desire is there, we will do everything possible to keep competing. She’s a Uruguayan mare—born near Maroñas, raised in Soriano, and broken in Soriano. While the Pamplona at Monterrico is on our radar, that trip is much longer and more complicated. You are a true 'visitor' there, so I lean more toward the local tranquility [or the closer Argentine option]..."
