The Firmamento filly will carry top weight of 59 kilos, but her past performances clearly outclass the rest of the field

Despite having to carry top weight of 59 kilos, Pecadora Joy looks hard to beat in the Handicap Cipayo (1600 m, dirt), the feature event of another Wednesday card at San Isidro, which also features a typical mix of allowance races and other contests.

The Firmamento filly clearly outclasses her eight rivals on paper, with the only question mark being that the mile has so far proved a tricky distance for her. A daughter of Fortify trained by Carlos D. Etchechoury – to be ridden by Daniel Bordón – she comes off a third-place finish in the Handicap Giovanetti, but her resume includes wins in the Clásico Jamelao (L) and Estrellas Dirt, as well as a strong 2023 campaign highlighted by a runner-up finish in the Clásico Raúl Aristegui (G2).

One possible challenger is Portal Maya (Portal del Alto, 53½ kg), who carries a light weight and just turned in a flawless performance for Franco Scarpello, winning comfortably in a local allowance over the same distance she faces now.

A similar profile comes from Señora Maga (Señor Candy, 53½ kg), representing Juan Saldivia, who, after narrowly defeating the aforementioned rival on the local dirt, finished fourth to Gigantografía (Bodemeister) and fifth, 8½ lengths behind Romana Craf (Mastercraftsman) in the Clásico Espirita (L).

The upset threat could come from Lost Beach (Treasure Beach, 55½ kg), who recently notched the fourth win of her career, defeating Señorita Tete (Señor Candy) over 1400 meters.

Stud M. de G. and trainer José Lofiego will have two contenders in Lumínica Es (True Cause, 52 kg) and Doble Amarilla (Suggestive Boy, 51½ kg), both with solid allowance form and now stepping up in class under favorable weights.

Rounding out the field are Playa Chopera (Treasure Beach, 52½ kg), Gritona Re (Safety Check, 52½ kg), and Iana Maro (Expressive Halo, 50 kg), all hoping to spring a surprise.
