Juan Saldivia aims to have an unforgettable afternoon this Friday at the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, where a pair of his top contenders will face off in the Gran Premio Jorge de Atucha (G1-1500 m). This is the only top-level event for fillies in the first semester and will undoubtedly crown the year's best 2-year-old on the dirt.

The trainer rests easy with Personal Filly and Live Your Life, two daughters of Dabster who put on a show when breaking their maidens and represent international interests. The former is a homebred for the South African Mary Slackand her Wilgerbosdrift, while the latter carries the colors of Al Adiyaat, the stable of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, an Emirati national and cousin of Sheikh Mohammed.

Personal Filly and Live Your Life are well-acquainted beyond morning workouts, as both debuted in the same race just over two months ago. That afternoon, the former defeated her stablemate by 1 length, prevailing in the closing stages and leaving the third-place finisher 16 lengths behind. Live Your Life found ample redemption in late March, breaking her maiden by 7 lengths over the same distance she faces now.

The Atucha extends beyond that duo. Tarea Fácil (Fortify) also looked like a filly with a great future, winning her debut by 5 lengths over La Agostinelli (Tetaze), who later gained revenge by winning by 6 lengths, strengthening the form line.

All of them will face the current queen of the generation at the corner of Avenida del Libertador and Dorrego: Embozada Rim (Remote), winner of the Carlos Casares (G3) and Saturnino J. Unzué (G2) stakes. She now faces a much tougher challenge, in addition to stepping up from 1,200 to 1,500 meters.

Deep Feeling (Sixties Song) finished second to Gota Clara Sos (Made You Look) in the Clásico Eliseo Ramírez (G2) on the San Isidro turf and now invades the dirt with high expectations. Another with stakes experience is Siesta(Cityscape), who finished third in the Unzué, though performing slightly below expectations.

The Atucha arrives with fillies of great promise and everything to gain.
