Personal Filly set for the Selección, facing 6 rivals at La Plata

The filly was among the 7 confirmed for the La Plata Oaks; saddled with an embarrassing purse, the Clásico Jockey Club de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (G3) attracted just 6 contenders

LA PLATA.- The final edition of the Gran Premio Selección de Potrancas (2000m, dirt) as a Group 1 contest at the local track will be run this coming Saturday with 7 runners, after Monday's confirmation deadline passed without a single scratch from the original lineup released on Friday.

The race, which carries a purse of 40,000,000 pesos, features a formidable standout in Personal Filly (Dabster), the star who captured the Clásico Polla de Potrancas (G2) a few weeks ago. Barring any mishaps, she should double up and crown herself the premier 3-year-old filly at the City of Diagonals.

Among her 6 rivals, Siesta (Cityscape) was ultimately ratified despite having competed this past Saturday at San Isidro in the Clásico Federico de Alvear (G3), where she finished fifth.

Agua Danzante (Interdetto), Carry Day (The Great Day), Derry (Nicholas), Everose (Uncle Chuck), and Justa Promesa (Fortify) complete the field.

That same afternoon, the Clásico Jockey Club de Santa Fe (1700m, dirt) will take place for fillies and mares 4 years old and up. The 11-strong lineup is highlighted by the presence of Blessed Shine (Honour Devil), Paxing (Señor Candy), and Soy La Líder (Manipulator).

Joining them in the gate will be Red Chilly (Il Mercato), Bryana (Treasure Beach), Mis Locuras (Manipulator), Total Triomphe (Cima de Triomphe), Mestasa (Il Mercato), Kissing Chupetina (South Kissing), Nipotina(Treasure Beach), and La Cordial (Santillano).

Meanwhile, on Tuesday the 22nd, the second leg of the local Triple Crown will arrive with the Clásico Jockey Club de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (G3-2000m, dirt). The series title will once again go unclaimed, as Autorretrato(Angiolo), winner of the Polla (G3), was not entered.

Teobaldo (Uncle Chuck), fresh off a victory in the Clásico José Pedro Ramírez (G3), and two-time winner Desert Voice (Dabster) headline a short list of 6 confirmed runners. The remaining contenders are Amigo Lucas (Todo Un Amiguito), Fuerte y Claro (Daniel Boone), Cahuel Win (Gershwin), and El Pirata (Il Campione).

The card will be rounded out by the Handicap Haras San Benito (1200m) for horses 4 years old and up with a minimum of 3 wins. From an original entry list of 26, 13 horses were confirmed, with Ander Fil (Filoso Emperor) assigned top weight at 60.5 kilos.
