Offering some of its best-bred yearlings, Haras La Providencia enjoyed an excellent return at its Gran Venta Anual de Productos, held Wednesday at the Tattersall of Haras La Pasión, which also hosted the debut of a new sales company: Blacktype Bloodstock Sales, led by Mariano Semowoniuk.

Buyers were active from start to finish, with all but four lots changing hands, and the top price of the day going to Picafort, a striking grey filly consigned by La Pasión, which not only served as the host farm but also participated as guest consignor on behalf of the Brazilian operation.

The daughter of Gouverneur Morris extended her sire's growing momentum—he currently sits atop the first-crop sire list—buoyed by a sensational Group 1 double on May 1 at Palermo, when Roshita and Amor de Contramano took the G1 Jorge de Atucha and G1 Montevideo, respectively.

Foaled on October 16, 2023, Picafort was knocked down for US$100,000 (payable in 10 installments) to trainer Marcelo Sueldo, acting on commission. She is out of the prolific Potri Jazz (Smart Strike), a half-sister to champion Touareg(Easing Along), and already the dam of five winners, including Potri Atoll (Sidney’s Candy), victorious in the Clásico Marina Lezcano and Handicap Utópico among her nine career wins.

The second-highest price of the day came from the same crop, as Gingado (Fortify)—offered in partnership with Rickard (Cityscape) by La Providencia—was purchased for US$95,000 by trainer Juan Saldivia, who prevailed after spirited bidding.

Out of Ginga (Pure Prize), a full sister to G1 winner Girlie and stakes winners Giddy and Gigahertz, Gingado is a half-brother to Giustino (Full Mast), last season’s G1 Polla de Potrillos hero.

Rounding out the top trio was another Gouverneur Morris filly from Haras La Pasión, as Foun Garota, out of Frutiera (Candy Ride), was secured for US$84,000 by Angel Díaz, acting on commission. A half-sister to three winners, her second dam is G3 winner Fotográfica (Lucky Roberto), dam of stakes-placed Foto Final (Stormy Atlantic).

In total, 49 yearlings were offered—some as pairs—with 45 selling for an aggregate of US$1,292,000, averaging US$26,367, and a median of US$20,948.
