With Desert Flower (Dubawi) as the leading contender for the 2025 edition of the Epsom Oaks (G1), the powerful Godolphin team aims to extend its rich legacy in the historic 2400-meter fillies’ classic. The royal blue silks have shone at Epsom on several occasions, highlighted by victories from Balanchine (Storm Bird, 1994) — representing Sheikh Mohammed before Godolphin’s formal establishment — Moonshell (Sadler’s Wells, 1995), and more recently, the German filly Kazzia (Zinaad, 2002).

In Kazzia’s case, it was a story of determination and versatility, as she also triumphed in the 1000 Guineas, completing a remarkable double.

Her victory marked the rise of Godolphin as a dominant force on the British turf. Now, Desert Flower, with an impeccable and undefeated record, will attempt to inscribe her name alongside the greats.

In a race steeped in history, Godolphin is once again front and center on the grand stage.
