The jockey took both important races on Monday: the Dancing Moss and the Blue Stripe

The week kicked off this Monday with a double stakes bill at the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, where the stars were Preston Boss (Holy Boss, 55) and It's My Look (Equal Stripes, 57).
For both, the common denominator was a return with a victory. The horse narrowly took the Handicap Dancing Moss(1400 m, dirt), while the mare won comfortably in the Blue Stripe (2000 m, dirt), with both recovering, furthermore, from respective setbacks in their previous outings.
But there was one more coincidence between the two, as both were guided by Adrián Giannetti, an effective jockey if ever there was one, and who, although the San Isidro turf usually showcases his skill the most, is also always a frequent winner on the Palermo dirt.
Preston Boss, as always, was a contender from early on, first letting Melón Vino (Cosmic Trigger, 54 1/2) show the way for a few meters. Upon hitting the homestretch, the grey advanced, took command, and held firm, saving enough energy to hold off the strong late charge of the favorite Che Vivi (Manipulator, 56 1/2) by just a nose. Five lengths back, meanwhile, Al Agua (Treasure Beach, 56) finished third, all in 1m23s95/100.
With Juan Saldivia in charge of his preparation, Preston Boss had not competed since mid-August, when he left the scene failing in the Clásico República Federativa del Brasil (G3). At 5 years old, he is working to regain his best form, the one that, for example, allowed him to win the Clásico Haras Argentinos (L) in 2024.
In the game of similarities, Giannetti used a similar tactic with It's My Look in the Handicap Blue Stripe, as he let Godess (Valid Stripes, 54) lead the way, overtook her in the stretch, and then pulled away convincingly to win by 4 lengths over Risible (Orpen, 55 1/2), with the heavy favorite Increpante (Sigfrid, 55 1/2) finishing last, distanced.
Franco Scarpello presented the mare from Stud Los Betos, who rejoined the circuit with an interesting victory that now allows her to eye the Campeonato Palermo de Oro.
