LIMA, Peru (Special for Turf Diario).— The dominance of Juan Humberto Suárez and Stud Jet Set at Monterricoadded another chapter over the weekend, with a haul of three stakes victories that confirmed the phenomenal moment the powerful combination is enjoying. Between Saturday and Sunday, Domitila, the Argentine-bred Puppi’s Husband, and Boudica transformed flawless appearances into trips to the winner's circle, underscored by prominent Argentine-bred contributions.

One of the most decisive performances came courtesy of Puppi’s Husband, a 4-year-old colt by Fortify out of Día Feliz (Roman Ruler) bred by Haras Vacación, who captured the Clásico Marina de Guerra del Perú over 1600 meters on the turf.

The dark bay validated his top form with a 2 3/4-length victory over Chalpon (Yazamaan), while Trudeau (Buenos Días) and Casciano (Donjuan) completed the order of finish. Carlos Trujillo, stepping in for the originally named Húber Bocanegra, was in the irons to guide a polished effort, stopping the clock in 1:35.49 following fractions of 23.55, 46.35, and 1:10.56.

For Puppi’s Husband, this marked his sixth victory in just 11 starts—a striking strike rate that speaks for itself and positions him as one of the leading figures in the Peruvian mile division. His career bankroll has now reached 133,258 soles.

Sunday's other major satisfaction for Suárez arrived in the Clásico Almirante Miguel Grau Seminario (G2), contested over 2000 meters on the grass, where Boudica featured in a thrilling finish alongside her stablemate, the Argentine-bred filly Se Va Colando (Treasure Beach), who came within a nose of completing another celebration for South American breeding.

Ridden by Mariano Arena, Boudica (The Lieutenant), bred by Los Eucaliptos, managed to stick her nose out on the final stride, prevailing by the narrowest of margins over Se Va Colando, who left a stellar impression in defeat. Happy Man (Mendelssohn) finished third, 1 1/4 lengths back, ahead of Zuccaro (Singe The Turf).

The 6-year-old winner secured her tenth victory in 34 outings, boosting her total earnings to 419,284 soles and reinforcing her status among the circuit's elite stayers.

Jet Set's outstanding streak had begun on Saturday when Domitila delivered on her status as race favorite in the Clásico Lady Shatzi - Gonzalo de la Puente y Lavalle over 1800 meters on the turf.

The U.S.-bred daughter of Brody’s Cause was given an excellent ride by Víctor Salazar to defeat Blandinka(Charlatan) by a half-length. The final time was 1:52.71, as the winner improved her record to 5 wins from 12 starts.

Three stakes races, three celebrations, and a masterclass of strength with trainer Juan Humberto Suárez at the common core. For Argentine breeding, the weekend carried the added satisfaction of Puppi’s Husband's triumph and the brave rally of Se Va Colando, who came within a whisker of making the showcase an even greater triumph for the nation's thoroughbreds.
