The son of Fortify was purchased for $51,000 by Mario da Silva from Brazil. As usual, there were prices to suit every budget

The Gran Venta Anual de Productos del Haras Santa María de Araras is typically one of the key events of the season when it comes to setting price benchmarks, thanks to the longstanding tradition of Julio Bozano's stud farm of offering each generation without reserves. The best example that this year’s sale followed the same path as always is the wide range of prices reached this Sunday, from the $51,000 paid for Qué Forte, the highest price, to others between $3,000 and $4,000.
Organized by (Arg) Sales and held entirely online, the highest-priced lot was purchased by Brazilian Mario da Silva, a son of Fortify (Distorted Humor) and the classic winner Qué Bella Noche (Giant's Causeway), who already produced Quinara (Daniel Boone), a three-time winner. The colt's dam is a half-sister to Qué Felicidad (Bernstein), Qué Vida Buena (Bernstein), and Qué Clase (Bernstein).
The other Fortify offspring in the catalog, Truco Gallo, took second place in the highest price rankings, acquired for $45,000 by Fernando Kustich. The chestnut is the first foal of Tropeadora (Daniel Boone), who won the Gran Premio de Potrancas (G1) at 2, along with the Juan S, Boucau, Doria, and Empiric stakes, from the family of G1 winners Quick Road (Jules), Raptor’s (Hat Trick), and Orla de Ipanema (Agnes Gold).
Rounding out the top three was Future Mind (Daniel Boone), a daughter of G2-placed Fuzarca (Put It Back), a half-sister to G1 winner Fuego e Hierro (Pure Prize), which was sold for $29,500 to Julián Lezica.
The 48 lots sold during the event generated a total of $484,250, with an average of $12,106 and a median of $7,757.
