Taking full advantage of his outstanding current form, the son of Asiatic Boy defeated Mister Coquette by half a length

The Clásico Fondistas Provinciales (2000m, turf) produced a spectacular finish as Quality Boy continued his outstanding run of form by narrowly defeating Mister Coquette (Bodemeister) after a prolonged stretch duel that highlighted the opening stakes event of the May 25 program.
Crossing the wire first for the fourth consecutive time, the son of champion and Triple Crown winner Asiatic Boy held firmly to the lead despite the relentless pressure from a rival who, for a moment, gave his connections legitimate hope of victory.
The strength of jockey Brian Enrique proved decisive through the final furlong, helping the representative of Stud Pedro Agustín, from La Punta, San Luis, prevail by half a length despite drifting outward noticeably during the decisive stages.
Runner-up rider Matías Medina felt there was no reason to lodge an objection, although the head-on replay clearly showed that Quality Boy’s outward movement had not been insignificant.
Bred by Al Adiyaat Argentina SA, and now nearing his seventh birthday, Quality Boy has become a stakes winner on Palermo turf, La Punta dirt, and the San Isidro grass course, while also adding two special victories over the Jockey Club dirt surface.
All of it paints the picture of a remarkably consistent campaign that has now produced nine victories from 45 starts.
