For a prize of a shameful 5,125,000 pesos (before deductions), the son of Asiatic Boy will carry 60 kilos

The traditional Wednesday session, accompanied by a bit of rain—at least according to the forecast—arrives this afternoon at the San Isidro racetrack. The highlight among the 13 scheduled races will be the Especial Full Sail, contested over 1800 meters on the sand track for horses 5 years old and up with at least 3 victories and a winner's prize of a shameful 5,125,000 pesos, before deductions...
Back at the top of his game, it seems that even the 60 kilos he must carry will not complicate matters for Quality Boy(Asiatic Boy), who is coming off a 10-length victory at a gallop in the Especial Rico, under the same conditions he faces now, though with 2 kilos less.
The greatest challenge for the near-certain favorite will come from the Entre Ríos native Hale Bopp (Equal Stripes, 56), trained by Gerardo Alteño—though presented by Miguel Angel Medina—who is now delivering everything he promised as a colt. He has won 2 of his last 3 appearances, always at the conditional level in Palermo. In his most recent conquest, he defeated Qatar Champion (Il Campione) by 3 lengths, though there is doubt regarding the distance, as all 4 of his wins to date have been over the mile.
After 147 days, it is time for the return of Western Orpen (Orpen, 58), who signed off with a third-place finish behind Ilustrado (Cosmic Trigger) in the Handicap Val D'Or, following three solid victories in common company.
Don Cervantes (Treasure Beach, 54) was the runner-up to Quality Boy in the Rico and will need to improve significantly to seek revenge, while Boyero Spring (Greenspring, 58) aims to make a mark once again, as he did when comfortably taking the Handicap Good Time in Palermo over the steady El Gazpacho (Bodemeister).
Don Galeón (Il Campione, 60) knows high-level competition perfectly, while both Q Culpeo (Forty One, 54) and Fruit Hunter (Global Hunter, 54) are coming off wins and will carry light weights.
