NEWMARKET, England (Special for Turf Diario).— Following a well-deserved freshener on the heels of his relentless international campaign, Rebel's Romance returns to action this Thursday to spearhead the Godolphin contingent on the opening day of the Newmarket July Festival, where he will target another high-profile prize in the Princess of Wales's Stakes (G2).

A true globetrotting icon of the turf and one of the finest stayers of recent years, Charlie Appleby's charge makes his seasonal reappearance after capturing the Dubai City of Gold (G2) at Meydan in February. That victory elevated his staggering career tally to 21 wins worldwide, highlighted by an extraordinary haul of nine Group 1 titles.

Now an 8-year-old, the son of Dubawi revisits the July Course, the very venue where he launched one of the most prolific patches of his career by taking the 2022 Fred Archer Stakes (L). That triumph ignited a five-race win streak that ultimately culminated in his initial victory in the Breeders' Cup Turf (G1) at Keeneland.

Trainer Charlie Appleby enters the feature with supreme confidence: "I am absolutely delighted with how Rebel's Romance is coming into the race. We identified this spot as the ideal starting option after weighing up a potential run at Royal Ascot. He is currently in fantastic order and, if he produces his A-game, he is very much the horse they all have to beat," the conditioner stated.

The powerful Godolphin operation will also be represented in the contest by Arabian Crown (Dubawi), winner of last season's August Stakes (L) who finished fifth on his seasonal return at Goodwood.

"He is a very smart horse in his own right. His best performances have come when he has been allowed to dictate his own fractions, and the plan will be to let him roll along freely from the outset," Appleby explained.

The boys in blue will also hold formidable hands across several supporting features on the card. Among the juvenile crop, Inner City Blues (Blue Point) looks to validate the immense promise of his winning debut at York when he lines up in the July Stakes (G2).

A graduate of the breeze-up sales, the son of Blue Point accounts for an authoritative debut victory over rivals who have subsequently boosted the form with next-out wins.

"He gained some invaluable experience at York. Once the penny dropped, he finished his race off very strongly. We feel he has come forward from that run and we expect him to be highly competitive once again," Appleby commented.

Another key protagonist for the yard will be Del Maro (Camelot), who aims to secure his breakthrough black-type victory in the Bahrain Trophy (G3).

The progressive three-year-old enters on the heels of two agonizingly close calls, having missed by a mere nose in both the Cocked Hat Stakes (L) at Goodwood and the grueling Queen's Vase (G2) at Royal Ascot.

"He came out of the Queen's Vase in great shape. It was another rock-solid performance from him, and if he reproduces that level of form, he will be right there at the business end of the race," the trainer noted.

Godolphin's heavy squad at the meeting will also include Wild Desert (Too Darn Hot), who makes his 2026 seasonal bow in the Sir Henry Cecil Stakes (L) having concluded his juvenile campaign with a runner-up finish in last year's Summer Stakes (G1).

Anchored by a multi-millionaire Group 1 juggernaut in Rebel's Romance and flanked by an array of high-upside prospects, Godolphin looks poised to play a defining role across one of the most traditional fixtures of the European summer season.
