After Finishing 1-2 Separated by a Half-Head, They Square Off This Afternoon in the Especial Halo Ola Over 2000 Meters

It hurts the eyes to see most of the racing programs scheduled at the main tracks in Argentina, where low-quality races have taken by storm what used to represent the highest possible standard. What will take place this Friday at San Isidrowill be no exception to the rule, anchored by the Especial Halo Ola.
Open to 5-year-old and up mares with 3 or more wins, and contested over 2000 meters on the dirt, the winner will take home a shameful purse of 5,525,000 pesos—barely 4 million after deductions. The math just does not add up anymore, not even with decent horses (for the owners, of course...).
The occasion could prove ideal for Reina Casada to make her experience and good form felt, despite having to shoulder the top weight of 60 kilos. The daughter of Long Island Sound enters off victories in the Especial Neápolis and Especial Seductor, both held on the very same track she will face today.
Also a heroine some time back in the Clásico Doria and the Handicap Miss Linda, the mare racing for Stud San Isidoro finds her main threat in the generous Farra Girl (Greenspring, 56), who seeks revenge after falling to the favorite by a mere half-head in the Especial Seductor. That afternoon there was a 2-kilo difference between them, and now it will be 4, a factor that could help turn the tables.
With 2 wins under her belt in her last 3 outings, Dona Zoe (Storm Embrujado, 54) steps up to a higher level backed by a weight assignment that will surely lend her a hand. Meanwhile, Playa Chopera (Treasure Beach, 56) and Doña Super(Daddy Long Legs, 56) will look to pull off a major upset. Iana Maro (Expressive Halo, 52) completes the field.
