Robate Un Beso Overcame Every Obstacle to Win the Campos and Head to the Polla as the Favorite

In a remarkable performance, the Stud RDI filly rallied from dead last to prevail by half a length over Look At To Me

Robate Un Beso entered the Clásico General Luis María Campos (G2-1,600 m, heavy dirt) at Palermo as one of the indisputable favorites. Her towering 11-length debut victory had amply fulfilled all expectations. Yet, it was equally true that she faced numerous hurdles to overcome. Chief among them was transitioning from turf to dirt, alongside stepping up from 1,400 meters to the mile and tackling opponents with greater experience in what was her stakes debut.

Relying on class, talent, and the signature acceleration she displayed on debut, the Bonne Chance Farm dark bay overcame every obstacle to deliver a victory of vast promise, one that guarantees her a first-class ticket to the upcoming Gran Premio Polla de Potrancas (G1).

Guided by Adrián Giannetti, who once again displayed his trademark patience and poise, the daughter of Uncle Chuck—a stallion whose first crop is making huge noise—swept from last to first down the stretch. Even while drifting in mid-stretch, Robate Un Beso ran down favorite Look At To Me (Dabster) just when the latter seemed poised to secure the victory, ultimately prevailing by half a length in a final time of 1m38s36/100.

Four lengths back, Empress Mary (Uncle Chuck) finished third, with Candy Unica (Señor Candy)—who came in off a win in the Güiraldes with Giannetti—in fourth, just ahead of pacesetter Foto Increíble (Gouverneur Morris), who flattened out late. Antolina (Remote) brought up the rear well behind.

Trained by Alfredo Gaitán Dassié, Robate Un Beso was bred by Stud RDI and is the third Argentine-bred foal out of the American mare Heart and Pray (Ghostzapper), a granddaughter of the unforgettable Potrinner (Potrillazo), a G1winner locally who produced outstanding results at stud.

Pedigree-wise, the filly is meeting every expectation, continuously clearing hurdles as the distances expand. Now the opening leg of the Triple Crown awaits her in a test even tougher than the one she passed on Saturday, though she will enter it with more race experience and supreme confidence.
