A son of Into Mischief and one of the standout colts of his generation, his arrival ranks among the most significant for the country in recent years

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay (Special to Turf Diario)—Uruguayan breeding will add a high-caliber stallion prospect for the upcoming season. Rocket Can, a son of Into Mischief, dual Grade 3 winner and one of the standout 3-year-olds of his generation, has already arrived in the country. He will stand beginning in 2026 through a partnership between Haras Los Robles and Haras San Miguel Queguay, residing at the latter.
Modern genetics and a high-level racing résumé come together in the gray, who has already generated considerable—and justified—excitement in the local market.
Bred by Woodford Thoroughbreds LLC, campaigned by Frank Fletcher Racing Operations, Inc., and trained by Bill Mott, Rocket Can raced 16 times, winning 4 and earning US$619,393.
A winner at two in his third start at Churchill Downs, he went on at three to capture the GIII Holy Bull Stakes at Gulfstream Park—the same track where he later finished second to champion Forte (Violence) in the GII Fountain of Youth Stakes, defeating, among others, Mage (Good Magic), the future GI Kentucky Derby winner.
After finishing fourth in the GI Arkansas Derby and running below form in the Kentucky Derby, Rocket Can spent nearly a year on the sidelines before returning with a sharp allowance win at Oaklawn Park. Several solid efforts followed, culminating in his second graded score when he returned to Gulfstream to win the GIII Harlan’s Holiday Stakes.
Unfortunately, in his next start—fourth in the GIII Fred W. Hooper Stakes—he sustained another injury that prompted his retirement.
Little needs to be added about Into Mischief, the perennial leading sire in the United States, whose sons such as Goldencents, Practical Joke, Audible and others are already proving successful at stud.
Rocket Can is out of Tension, a Tapit mare who is a half-sister to Tiz Midnight (Midnight Lute), record-setting winner of the GII Bayakoa Stakes and dam of Midnight Memories (Mastery), winner of the GII Zenyatta Stakes, GIII Torrey Pines Stakes, and another edition of the GII Bayakoa Stakes.
Tension is also a half-sister to Beauty N Balance (Lookin At Lucky), dam of American Blaze (American Freedom), a Grade 3-placed runner in 2024.
The second dam of Rocket Can is the exceptional Tough Tiz's Sis (Tiznow), winner of the GI Ruffian Handicap and GI Lady's Secret Stakes, and a half-sister to stakes winner Golly Greeley (Mr. Greeley).
