Rollanda ($2.10) overcame a field-high 128-pound assignment to post a convincing victory in Monday’s featured Handicap Jacinto Rafael Herrera at Palermo. The victory marked the second consecutive handicap score for the Rubio B. runner, who appears to have found her best stride as a 5-year-old under the care of conditioner Juan C. Etchechoury (h.).

The 1200-meter sprint over a heavy main track developed with a contested pace, as a trio of rivals clicked off internal splits of :23.89 and :47.10. William Pereyra kept the favorite well-positioned and waited until the top of the lane to ask for her best. Rollanda responded with a professional late kick, surging clear in the final furlong to win by two lengths without being fully extended. Legítima Blan rallied to secure second, while Nashville Blue held on for a game third.

A daughter of Bodemeister, Rollanda stopped the clock in 1:12.92. With a record of 6-for-15, the mare continues to climb the ladder in the local sprint division. Boasting a strong black-type family—including a recent Grade 1 connection through her niece Roshita—Rollanda’s tactical versatility and ability to handle heavy going make her a formidable force in the Buenos Aires handicap circuit.
