The mare from Rubio B. dominated upon entering the home straight and held off the charges of Ataka and Winning Wind just in time

Bolting at the right time yielded the best of dividends for Rollanda (56 kg), who this Friday at San Isidro Racecourse settled an old debt by achieving her first victory outside of conditional ranks. It was in the framework of the Especial Guatán, the most important race of the day, run over 1,200 meters on the dirt with a pathetic prize of 3,850,000 pesos.
Always well-regarded, the mare from Stud Rubio B. confirmed how much she likes the northern inner track, where she had just had her first effort finishing second to Mi Negra Paula (Reflecting) in the Especial Badruddin.
With previous close finishes against rivals of the level of G1 winner Martana (Fortify) or the classic Joy Melódica(Fortify), the daughter of Bodemeister never allowed the frontrunner La Campioneta (Il Campione, 56) to move freely, dominating her very early upon entering the home straight, at the same moment in which the favorite Ataka (Señor Candy, 62) got somewhat complicated on the inside and was forced to pull outside the leader.
That was where the winner made the difference, holding her ground firmly at the end to find the saving wire just as Atakaand Winning Wind (Endorsement, 58) charged fast to flank her in that order, separated only by a nose and a half-head in a spectacular finish. The race time was meritorious: 1m10s46/100.
Prepared by Juan C. Etchechoury (h.), Rollanda had the complicity from the reins of William Pereyra, who was spot on with the tactics employed to allow the bay to reach the fifth victory of her career, over 14 starts, and place her earnings at 16,535,000 pesos, a figure that speaks of the poverty of prizes in Argentina.
Rollanda is the ninth foal out of the very fast Rolling Tina (Yankee Victor), who had already produced classic winners Ramblera (Easing Along) and Raons (Lizard Island), as well as Rosheen (Easing Along), the dam of G1 winner Roshita (Goueverneur Morris), surely one of those who will fight for the 2025 Champion 2-Year-Old Filly title. All, of course, were raised at Haras La Pasión.
