The mare targets the Clásico La Mission (G2), while the colt will face just four rivals in the Clásico Vilmar Sanguinetti

On the road to the Gran Premio Copa de Plata (G1), the long–winded fillies will have a key prep this afternoon at San Isidro, where the Clásico La Mission (G2, 2000mT) headlines a graded double feature that will begin a bit earlier with the Clásico Vilmar Sanguinetti (1400mT) for 3-year-old colts.
A competitive cast will line up for the race that honors the only filly to have swept Argentina’s Triple Crown, and the way the race unfolds could prove decisive. With a sharp early tempo expected, the contest may set up for the late closers.
Lacanian Ink (Fragotero) and Herd Immunity (Forge) are likely to ensure an honest pace, a scenario that could play right into the hands of Romana Craf, who looks for redemption after finishing third in this event 12 months ago. The Mastercraftsman mare comes in fresh from a victory in the Clásico Espirita (L), but will need to stay engaged early, as neither Lacanian Ink nor Herd Immunity are to be taken lightly. The former was disqualified from her runner-up finish in the Clásico Omega (G2) due to treatment, though she had earlier annexed both the Paseana (G2) and Partícula (G2). Herd Immunity, meanwhile, delivered a creditable effort in the Estrellas Distaff (G1) despite dealing with a physical setback.
Also in the mix is Knows All (Le Blues), a filly who has knocked on the graded door more than once and seems on the verge of a breakthrough, while Presencial (Suggestive Boy) remains a name to never overlook.
Earlier on the card, just five colts will contest the Clásico Vilmar Sanguinetti, led by Coro de Rojas (Daddy Long Legs), who seeks a forward move after a string of promising efforts. He’ll face The Outsider (Roman Joy), returning to turf after disappointing in the Clásico Old Man (G3), and Full Caluroso (Full Mast), a sharp recent winner at La Plata where he secured his second career score with ease. Señor Dalton (Señor Candy) and Tiffony Moi (El Moisés) round out the compact field.
