PALERMO, Buenos Aires (Special for Turf Diario).- A Monday with strong action awaits at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, where the proposal includes a pair of handicaps and several conditional races to follow closely, featuring youngsters and the return of the talented Butterfing (Angiolo).

The stakes portion of the date will be provided by the Handicap Court Harwell (1200 m, dirt) and the Handicap Ultrasonido (1800 m, dirt), both for horses aged 5 and up, winners, and with very low purses.

In the first of those clashes, it is interesting to see if the notable Rugiente can add a new conquest despite the difficulty of having to carry the top weight of 62 kilos. The son of Il Campione won nearly 2 months ago in the Clásico Jorge A. Ricardo, under scale weights, leaving fourth another notable runner like Despacito (Sabayón, 61), who will cross his path once again here.

For both, the burden will be heavy, and therefore one must look closely at what Cerrito Piñón (Manipulator, 59) can do, having just won by 6 lengths in the Especial Parlanchín on the San Isidro dirt.

In the Ultrasonido, meanwhile, the candidate is Super Inter, maximally forgiven by the handicapper by assigning him only 60 kilos. It should be noted that the son of Super Saver has 7 stakes wins in his campaign, the most recent of them in early December, when he finished a head in front of multiple G1 winner El Exito (Il Campione) in the Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (L).

Subsequently, the pupil of Nicolás Martín Ferro was third to El Emporio (Il Campione) in the Clásico Haras Argentinos (G3), far back, it’s true, but at a different level.

Of course, "races are races," but the distribution was an embarrassment, as Emergent (Il Campione), whose best achievement was winning the Especial Silfo and is coming off 3 consecutive defeats, will carry 57 1/2 kilos. Buen Escocés (Bodemeister, 56 1/2) returned from a layoff with an interesting victory in San Isidro and is aiming for more.
