The spectacular four-win haul by jockey Kevin Banegas at Monday’s meeting at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo found its brightest moment aboard Ruler Man, who captured the H. Liloy (1000m, dirt), the feature of an otherwise low-key card. The Lenovo colt maintained the excellent form he had shown days earlier in the H. Hunter’s Moon, adding another decisive success and underlining that a return to stakes company is far from a pipe dream.

Carrying a manageable 56 kilos, the Stud Pilufa runner from Azul broke poorly, but recovered swiftly and had already worked his way to the front by midway through the race. From there, his authority only grew, finishing powerfully to score by three lengths over Lyon (Le Blues, 54). New Jamalero (Lenovo, 52.5) and Bizarrap (Forge, 53) completed the quartet a head and half a length back, respectively, in a time of :57.86.

Bred by Haras Don Yayo and trained by Juan José Egüen, Ruler Man now boasts six wins from 14 starts, and his speed continues to stand out at Palermo—even while overcoming issues that would trouble many.
