Ascot confirmed the full lineups for Saturday's traditional team competition; the multi-time champion returns to the event after a 20-year absence, joined by Dylan Browne McMonagle and Saffie Osborne, while Yutaka Take, Christophe Lemaire, and Vincent Ho headline the remaining squads

BERKSHIRE, England (Special for Turf Diario).— The Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup line-ups are set. Ascotconfirmed this Monday the complete rosters for the traditional team competition to be contested this Saturday, August 8, with the primary storyline centering on the return of Ryan Moore, who will headline a formidable Great Britain and Ireland squad.
Widely regarded as one of the world's premier jockeys, the World Pool ambassador boasts over 200 G1 victories and arrives in exceptional form. Fresh off 7 wins at Royal Ascot—where he captured his 13th leading rider title—and 5 triumphs last week at Glorious Goodwood, Moore returns to the Shergar Cup for the first time since 2006, when he made his debut and claimed the Silver Saddle as top individual rider with a double.
The British-Irish team will also feature one of European racing's brightest young talents: Dylan Browne McMonagle. The 23-year-old Irishman continues to build an impressive résumé following his victory in last year's Breeders' Cup Turf (G1) aboard Ethical Diamond (Awtaad), along with completing the classic Epsom Oaks (G1) and Irish Oaks(G1) double this season riding Thundering On (Night of Thunder) and Johanna Walsh (Sea the Stars), respectively. The reigning champion jockey in Ireland also acquitted himself well during a recent three-month stint in Hong Kong.
The squad will be captained by Saffie Osborne, making her second appearance in the competition. During her 2023 debut, she rode a double, and she enters in sparkling form after riding a treble on King George day, highlighted by a victory in the prestigious Moët & Chandon International Handicap.
All three local riders are enjoying remarkable summer campaigns. Moore topped the standings at Goodwood with 5 wins, Browne McMonagle finished close behind with 4, and Osborne added a pair of victories.
Hong Kong, Europe, and Rest of the World Bring Top-Flight Star Power
Organizers had previously revealed the remaining team line-ups.
The headline addition is the debut of a team representing the Hong Kong Jockey Club, featuring riders based in that jurisdiction. The squad is led by Vincent Ho, joined by Jerry Chau and Luke Ferraris, both making their first appearances in the event.
Europe will be captained by Frenchman Christophe Lemaire, a dominant force in Japanese racing who recently partnered Masquerade Ball (Duramente) in the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (G1). He is joined by countrywoman Marie Velon, making her second appearance, and promising Norwegian rider Frida Valle Skar.
Meanwhile, the Rest of the World squad features international star power. Australian Jamie Melham, a Melbourne Cup (G1) winning rider, assumes captaincy duties. Japanese icon Yutaka Take returns for his ninth Shergar Cup, joined by Indian jockey Suraj Narredu, who made a strong impression during his 2025 debut.
Featuring four teams packed with international talent, the Shergar Cup once again offers its distinct team-based format, shifting the focus from individual glory to collective rivalry in one of Ascot's most captivating fixtures.
