The son of Pneumatic returns to action against 7 rivals on the grass at San Isidro, contesting 1,400 meters over the diagonal

The superb race card scheduled for this Saturday at Hipódromo de San Isidro will kick off its stakes tripleheader with the Clásico Vilmar Sanguinetti, contested over 1,400 meters on the turf diagonal for 3-year-old colts.

Serving as an alternative prep path for young males eyeing the Gran Premio Joaquín S. de Anchorena (G1) in December, the race will feature a field of 8 runners, several of whom have plenty of reason to dream of victory.

Following a layoff of nearly 3 months, Sam Bushido (Pneumatic) returns eager to live up to the high regard in which he is held. After finishing runner-up to the injured Cardo Castilla (Strategos) in the Gran Premio Gran Criterium (G1)—or rather the Clásico Gran Criterium / Chevalier (G2)—he broke his maiden narrowly, yet clearly taking a step forward.

He will face no shortage of tough rivals, such as Negro de Pergamino (Hi Happy) and Cautivador (Pneumatic), who come off a 1-2 finish separated by just a head in a demanding allowance race. Wek End Pass (Distinctiv Passion) and Future Mind (Daniel Boone), who finished fourth and sixth, respectively, in that same contest, will also compete in this tribute to the unforgettable Uruguayan jockey.

Riding a two-race winning streak, Opinium (King Guillermo) returns less than two weeks after his last effort, stepping up to 1,400 meters while looking formidable to beat.

The third time proved to be the charm for Earth Day (Cosmic Trigger), who showed plenty of grit to defeat the Brazilian colt Ryan (Outstrip) by 3/4 of a length, hinting that he has plenty more to offer.

The line-up is completed by Scratch Nik (Seize), who made significant progress last time out to score a decisive maiden victory.
