For the second time in just a few weeks, Hipódromo de San Isidro has announced an increase in prize money for its races, along with the implementation of a 100,000-peso bonus for horses finishing sixth to eighth in allowance and handicap races.

The low number of entries in recent programs, combined with less competitive purses compared to Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, played a key role in the decision. The increases will vary by category and will take effect for races starting with the entries on the 24th of this month.

For example, a two-year-old maiden race up to 1300 meters, which previously offered 3,650,000 pesos, will now distribute 4,200,000 pesos, reflecting a 15% increase. In the case of three-year-old maidens over 2000 meters or more, the prize will rise from 4,750,000 to 5,500,000 pesos.

The increase is slightly lower in other divisions. For four-year-olds with two or more wins over 1400 or 1500 meters, purses will climb from 3,450,000 to 3,720,000 pesos, a 10% raise.

Meanwhile, races for five-year-olds and older saw a more moderate adjustment in prize money.

The new prize money scale at San Isidro is as follows
