Both assigned top weight of 58 kilos, they headline the Especial Amaranto Plus over 1200 meters and promise one of the highlights of Thursday's program at El Bosque

LA PLATA.- The stakes portion of Thursday's program at El Bosque, which begins with the Clásico Pedro Goenaga (G2), will conclude with the Especial Amaranto Plus, a 1200-meter event for mares aged five and older with three or more victories.
Both carrying the top weight of 58 kilos, Save Your Tears (Full Mast) and Joy Traviesa (Fortify) emerge as the principal attractions, with the latter making her first appearance at La Plata, a potential disadvantage against a rival who knows the local surface well.
A mare of undeniable quality, Save Your Tears enters the race off an excellent performance a few weeks ago when she captured the Especial Mad Corsaria, defeating Winning Wind (Endorsement) by one length while posting a sharp 1:10.79 for the distance.
Joy Traviesa, meanwhile, recently returned from a lengthy layoff and finished a creditable fourth, beaten just 1 1/2 lengths by Ma Perque (Cosmic Trigger). Prior to that effort, she had closed out her 2025 campaign by capturing the Especial Borobeta, also on the dirt at Palermo.
The main spoiler could be Furiosa Vis (Furious Key, 56 kilos). She most recently finished fifth behind Moon's Destiny (Orpen) in the Handicap Juan A. Maldotti, but before that displayed tremendous determination when defeating both the talented Ataka (Señor Candy) and the aforementioned Winning Wind in the Handicap Carlos A. Zarlengo.
Other noteworthy contenders include Empress Life (Legión de Honor, 56 kilos) and Potra Sabática (Manipulator), both representing Stud El Barrial and bringing considerable experience at this level, as well as Pretty Fabulous (Macho Fabuloso, 54 kilos), who earned her most recent victory over Doña Chila (Peten Itza) in the Handicap Haras Dilú.
While the field offers several capable mares, the spotlight figures to remain firmly fixed on Save Your Tears and Joy Traviesa. One owns the home-field advantage and arrives in peak form; the other brings proven quality and the potential for significant improvement off her comeback effort.
Their clash should provide one of the most attractive races of the afternoon at La Plata.
