Carrying 60 kilograms, the stakes winner tops the preferences over 1,100 meters on the dirt; Gulieta, Oíme Bien, and undefeated Wanda add intrigue to a feature offering a very low purse

Racing will take place for the second consecutive day at Hipódromo de San Isidro, where this Thursday the Especial Resuello serves as the feature on a program that once again lays bare the weakness of current purse structures. Restricted to mares 5 years old and up with three or more wins, the contest will be run over 1,100 meters on the dirt and offer a meager 3,925,000 pesos to the winner—an extremely low reward for runners of such credentials, several of whom boast notable black-type backgrounds.

In this setting, Save Your Tears (Full Mast) stands out as the primary candidate, even while shouldering top weight of 60 kilograms and looking to bounce back from an effort below expectations. At the end of August, she finished sixth in the Handicap Laguna Blanca, a placing she will aim to rectify by drawing on the class she has repeatedly displayed in far more demanding company.

Winner of the Clásico Florentino Ameghino and Clásico Francia (L), in addition to the Handicap Roy, the mare possesses more than enough quality to earn another vote of confidence. One need not look back far to find proof of her effectiveness: two starts ago, she missed by just a half-head to Vieja Amiga Mask (Mask) in the Handicap Servicio Veterinario at Palermo.

That performance serves as a valuable barometer for her chances. If she can recapture that form, she will hold strong prospects of returning to the winner's circle, though the heavy weight assignment and the presence of capable rivals prevent this from looking like an easy assignment. Her experience will prove a vital asset in a short sprint where every minor edge counts.

The most serious threat will be Gulieta (Equal Stripes, 56), carrying the colors of Stud Rubio B., whose recent ascent places her squarely among the key contenders. After stringing together two conditional victories, she stepped up to handicap ranks in the Laguna Blanca and finished fifth, just a head in front of Save Your Tears.

However, there is an aspect of that prior meeting that demands a calibrated assessment: she carried 52 kilograms on that occasion and must now shoulder 56. The four-kilogram increase poses a fresh challenge for a mare seeking to leverage her current form into a signature victory.

Also aiming to make her presence felt is Oíme Bien (Daddy Long Legs, 56), another entrant arriving with plenty of reasons for optimism. Following a pair of conditional wins, she ran creditably in the Clásico Etoile (L), finishing third, just two lengths behind Creencia Espiritual (Strategos). That effort lends strong support to her candidacy and elevates her well beyond longshot status.

A notch lower in early calculations sits Wanda (Fragotero, 56), though her record commands utmost respect: she is undefeated in four career starts. She debuted victoriously on the San Isidro dirt before adding three straight wins at La Plata between 1,000 and 1,200 meters. In her most recent appearance in April, she scored by a length and a half over Sra. Brandy (Señor Candy).

She now returns following a 154-day layoff, facing a significant test to keep her perfect record intact. Her fitness level remains one of the main variables in the Especial Resuello, where Save Your Tears will look to assert her proven class and reclaim top spot.
