Wrapping up the week, Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo will reopen its doors this afternoon with a card featuring a strong lineup of runners and the highlight, the Especial Taba. The 1200-meter main track sprint will test fillies and mares aged four and up, competing under a weight scale as per regulations.

With just five confirmed starters, the presence of Save Your Tears (Full Mast) stands out, though the race promises to be anything but easy. Representing Stud Chichín, the filly comes off a win over the talented La Meninha (Le Blues) in the Handicap Roy at San Isidro, and her sole outing in Buenos Aires so far also yielded a victory—an effortless conditional score late in 2024.

In her path, she’ll face Bichita de Luz (Fragotero), a runner with notable ability but some inconsistencies. Winner of the Luis Monteverde (L), Vale Dori, and Snow Figure Stakes, she most recently finished second in the Handicap Giovanetti.

Victoria Bayern (Santillano) was narrowly beaten by three-quarters of a length by Ataka (Señor Candy) in the Handicap Pensilvania, while Emely (Il Campione) lost by a length to Señora Bagaces (Señor Candy) in the Especial Curtida Nistel at La Plata. Both possess the class to upset if they fire on the day.

Rounding out the field is Maylena (Qué Vida Buena), coming from the south where she earned three consecutive conditional wins before finishing fifth—six and a half lengths back—in the same Especial Curtida Nistel. This will mark her first start at Palermo.
